2025 Spirituality Conference: Spirituality of Relationship

This workshop is designed for nurses, chaplains, physicians, social workers, other health care providers, faith leaders and all interested in a dynamic examination of aging and remaining spiritually vital.

Course Description

A Hoag Faith Community Nursing conference for health care providers, faith leaders and interested persons.  This course will explore a broad range of perspectives to guide us in self-discovery to improve understanding of how our choices and responses affect ourselves, and others in our lives.  Deepening self-awareness, identifying spiritual connections, strengthening caring attitudes and providing empathetic care will serve you, your loved ones, your patients, and the broader community well.    

Attendees are encouraged to apply speakers' concepts within the framework of your own faith or belief system.  

Objectives

• Explore the pivotal role of spirituality in guiding patients through the emotional and psychological impact of critical moments in patient care.                                                                                        

• Develop strategies for nurses to engage in compassionate and spiritually sensitive dialogues that foster trust, hope, and resilience during critical moments of patient care.

• Identify mental, physical, and spiritual risk factors and consequences associated with strained and broken relationships.

• Identify resources for clients and patients who are navigating difficult relationships.

• Assess personal beliefs regarding diversity, equity and inclusion and how our own implicit biases may affect delivery of patient care .

• Expand Knowledge of "others" through experience, exposure, and education to improve personal and professional relationships with family, friends, colleagues, and the patients/clients we serve.

• Describe integrative medicine approaches to digestive health conditions.

• Review the Mind-Body-Gut connection.

• Discuss the impact of connecting to nature to enhance self-healing.

• Discuss the ideas of “attunement” and “discernment” regarding natural healing and plant medicine.

A 3% administrative fee will apply to all cancellations. Written cancellations will be accepted until March 5, 2025. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after March 5, 2025. Refunds will not be honored for no-shows.
