This activity, Management of Perinatal Sepsis, Septic Shock, and Toxic Shock Syndrome, focuses on enhancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals in identifying, responding to, and managing maternal sepsis and related critical conditions. Participants will explore a team-based approach to stabilize patients effectively, emphasizing trauma-informed care for high-risk maternity cases. The session will also guide the development of standardized protocols to ensure timely and effective management of maternal emergencies, improving patient outcomes and fostering a culture of collaborative care.

1. Review the definitions of sepsis and septic shock.
2. Describe how to identify, respond, and stabilize the maternal sepsis patient with a team-based approach.
3. Outline complications of maternal sepsis.
