This accredited nursing conference is designated to address practical issues and clinical challenges that oncology nurses face each day. During this two-day conference, attendees will benefit from an intimate learning environment in which prominent faculty will present the latest in oncology care and provide practical strategies and tools to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes.

Keynote presentation by cancer survivor and PBS documentary filmmaker, Carolyn Jones. 


Objectives
At the end of this event, the audience will be able to:

  1. Identify the importance of the oncology nurse from the breast cancer survivor patient perspective.
  2. Describe the common presentations of acute and chronic leukemia and recognize emergent associated syndromes.
  3. Discuss rationale for combined modality treatment of locally advanced NSCLC including acute and long-term side effects and their management.
  4. Identify health strategies for optimal health, longevity and cancer prevention.
  5. Describe the new investigational approaches in CART and T cell receptors for solid tumors.
  6. Recognize pathophysiology and clinical manifestations of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), differentiation syndrome (DS) and describe cardiac complications in oncology.
  7. The participant will: Describe meaningful and effective strategies for building resilience and maintaining mental health wellness to better care for oncology patients.
  8. Identify new drugs/agents that have been FDA approved for cancer treatment in 2025.
  9. Recognize how new drugs/agents are given generic names, and how to gain information based on the naming system.
  10. Develop strategies for effective communication with patients and families on palliative and end of life care.
  11. Utilizing a case-based approach, the learner will describe the meaning, driving forces, and multi-level effects of moral injury, moral distress, biases and burnout syndrome from an individual, team, and system-level perspective.
  12. Recognize how cellular therapies mechanisms of action deliver strong efficacy and the risk of cytokine release syndrome and neurotoxicity.
  13. Understand clinical trial and other developments in the management of advanced prostate, urothelial, kidney, and rare GU cancers.
  14. Describe how integrating AI can complement and enhance human roles in health care.

Registration
CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES TO REGISTRATIONS
A 3% administrative fee will apply to all cancellations and registration changes. Written cancellations will be accepted until June 13, 2025. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after June 13, 2025. Refunds will not be honored for no-shows.

Accreditation

This program is approved for ILNA Points. The program content has been reviewed by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) and is acceptable for recertification points. ONCC review is only for designating content to be used for recertification points and is not for CNE accreditation.
CNE programs must be formally approved for contact hours by an acceptable accreditor/approver of nursing CE to be used for recertification by ONCC. If the CNE provider fails to obtain formal approval to award contact hours by an acceptable accrediting/approval body, no information related to ONCC
recertification may be used in relation to the program.
