Overview

Medicine is advancing at a breathtaking pace. Our medical knowledge now doubles every 73 days, with over 240,000 new scientific papers published each week. This torrent of data represents immense opportunities for breakthroughs but also poses daunting challenges. Technology delivers information rapidly, yet our ability to effectively digest and apply it lags. Join Thomas A. Coss, RN, FCN for an informative discussion on how to formulate the appropriate questions, apply knowledge and harness the benefits of AI as we serve our clients/patients and their families.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Define information and knowledge in the context of nursing practice and explain their role in decision-making.
  2. Describe how contextual factors influence AI-driven predictions and apply this to faith community scenarios.
  3. Identify the structure and limitations of AI chats for practical nursing tasks, such as medication reviews.
  4. Discuss the nurse's role in cultivating insight, building experience, and forging wisdom, amplifying AI in teaching and Chronic Condition Management.
  5. Evaluate ethical considerations of AI in holistic, faith-integrated care.
