Overview

For more than 20 years, this accredited nursing conference has focused on the real-world challenges oncology nurses encounter in daily practice. This two-day program offers an intimate learning environment where leading faculty share the latest advances in oncology care, along with practical strategies and tools designed to enhance nursing practice and improve patient outcomes.


Objectives

At the end of this program, attendees will be able to


  1. Identify at least two strategies to strengthen empathy, support building relationships, defuse tension, and navigate change with composure.
  2. Summarize the differences between neoadjuvant and adjuvant treatment approaches in breast cancer.
  3. Identify personal risk factors for breast and ovarian cancer and outline recommended risk reduction strategies.
  4. Discuss the fundamentals and advanced concepts of cellular Immunotherapeutics, including CAR-T and bispecific therapies, as well as future directions in this field.
  5. Identify risk factors associated with difficult intravenous access (DIVA).
  6. Recognize key nursing considerations and patient experiences during radiation therapy, including side effect monitoring and patient education.
  7. Apply evidence-based nursing interventions to prevent, mitigate, and manage acute infusion-related complications, including extravasation injuries and severe allergic responses.
  8. Identify newly FDA-approved oncology drugs and agents for 2026, including an understanding of generic naming conventions and how to interpret drug classifications.
  9. Describe the modern advances in gynecologic oncology and associated unique side effect profiles.
  10. List risk factors for early identification of colorectal cancer.
  11. Discuss how clinical trial findings influence the development of evidence-based standards of care in oncology practice.
  12. Describe the epidemiology of multiple myeloma, with attention to racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities.
  13. Recognize the emotional and psychological burdens experienced by oncology nurses caring for patients and families facing serious illness.

Accreditation

This program is approved for ILNA Points. The program content has been reviewed by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) and is acceptable for recertification points. ONCC review is only for designating content to be used for recertification points and is not for CNE accreditation.
CNE programs must be formally approved for contact hours by an acceptable accreditor/approver of nursing CE to be used for recertification by ONCC. If the CNE provider fails to obtain formal approval to award contact hours by an acceptable accrediting/approval body, no information related to ONCC
recertification may be used in relation to the program.
